June is finally here, very soon all the months of hard work will pay off for our dancers! We will soon take the stage in the name of Jesus and dance joyfully in His name.  Please help spread the word of our June Recital to family, friends & co-workers, not only will your children be demonstrating the skills they have learned over the past year but most importantly ministering and praising the Lord with their dance.

It is very important that you read the rehearsal schedules below very carefully please.  At studio pictures we had many families show up at the wrong time because they were unsure of what class their dancer was in. It is very important that you know your child’s class name because we have multiple classes for the same age groups. All lower school classes are referred to as Pre-ballet or Intro Levels and then broken into age groups. Upper school will be referred to in levels such as Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced or as I, II, III or IV.  If you have any questions please call the office and we would be more than glad to help.   In the case where we have more than one of the same class, the day of the week will be listed with the class, any time listed will be the time that the particular event will occur NOT the time that the class meets on a weekly basis.

Please note: The week of recital there will not be regular class, each class has designated rehearsal times.  All times and locations for rehearsals and are listed below and in the Recital Handbook.  

Important Dates

June 6th – Special Pre-registration for Fall & Summer classes at the studio from the hours of 9:00am - 2:00 p.m. This is your chance to get first pick of classes for the Fall & Summer classes.

Upper School Boom Box June 8, 2009 Jacoby Auditorium, please enter the auditorium from the backstage doors by the loading dock. It is very important that your child attends all rehearsals including the Boom Box rehearsals. This is in normal class attire.  Please be on time!

June 10^th All Studio Dress & Technical Rehearsal at Jacoby Auditorium – 4:00 pm

Dress rehearsal is mandatory for all dancers. If you should miss the dress rehearsal you will not perform in the Recital. Please arrive at 4:00 pm with your child dressed in costume, hair and makeup done. Please treat this just as you would the normal recital as Kellie Trenkle from Captivation Photography & Design will be doing live photography of our dancers.  We anticipate rehearsal to go until 7:00 or 7:30 pm – If you are dropping your child off we need you to be back to pick them up at 7:00 pm even though we may not be quite done. We will work the Finale first, and then run through the show completely (if your child is in Lower School you may leave after the first run through). We will then do a second run through will Upper School.

June 11^th - Boom Box Rehearsal at Celebration Street, this rehearsal is for Upper School classes only, please refer to the June 8^th time schedule for your class times.

This year’s recital will not be professionally videotaped, we are sad to say but if you would like to bring your personal video cameras you are welcome too.  We must ask that there in no flash photography at all during the recital please.

June 13, 2009 Celebration Street’s 11th Annual Recital at Jacoby Auditorium – Upper School Students (ages 8 & up) please arrive at Jacoby at 6:00 pm.   Lower School students (all pre-ballet & intro classes) arrive 6:30 pm sharp dressed in your costume. Please make sure you feed your child something substantial before the recital. There is to be no other liquids allowed backstage but water bottles please. Please drop your child off backstage with their class parent and then exit through the backstage doors and enter the auditorium through the front doors. The doors will open for seating at 6:30 pm sharp. No one other than staff or volunteers will be allowed in the auditorium before the doors open, you must wait in the lobby please.   Volunteers, Celebration Street Staff and Jacoby Tech Crews only will be allowed backstage – we must ask this for security reasons. Unless you are picking up a lower school student immediately after their dance you will be asked to leave backstage, we thank you in advance for your understanding please.

June 15^th – 18^th Our last week of regular classes before we break for summer!

June 19^th and 26^th – We have been invited to perform at the U.S. Cellular Movies in the Park!!! Sign up sheets are in the studio. Please sign up as soon as possible so we can make these performances a great success! We still need dancers to sign up, talk to your teachers please.
