Important
Items:
June
Tuition –
We wanted to give everyone a heads up and reminder over June
tuition. As stated in the Student Parent Handbook, June tuition
is due paid in advance with May tuition. June tuition may be
made in payments as long as it’s paid in full on or before May
10th. All
accounts must be paid in full no later than May 10th, with
all fees paid or dancers will not be eligible to dance in the
June Showcase. If you have
other payment arrangements made with the office in regards to
your regular tuition, please see Sasha to make arrangements for
your final payment due in May.
We will hold one week of dance classes after the
recital – our last day of regular dance before we break for
Summer will be Thursday June 18th.
Dress
Code – Why
a dress code? There
is a reason for dress codes in any professional school. Proper
dance attire enables both teacher and students to view the
instrument, in this case the body, properly. This allows for
corrections to be made, minimizing the potential for injury, and
both student and teacher can work without distractions.
Uniformity in a Ballet classroom develops a sense of unity and
allows all focus to be on the work. Parents if you have
questions regarding our dress code please ask, it is also in the
Student/Parent Handbook. For
students who are in Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre or Jazz classes,
even though we have adopted a more relaxed dress code for these
classes you are still expected to wear a leotard in class as
well as the appropriate shoes. If you come to class with out the
proper shoes, leotard, tights or having your hair pulled back,
be prepared to sit out of class and watch.
If you do not have a leotard or shoes, please see Sasha so we
can help you find that right items for class.
Recital and Costumes – It’s time to start thinking about recital, it will be here before we know it! Some costumes have begun to arrive, however they are not ready to go home with you yet. We will try costumes on it class to make sure everything fits correctly; after they have been altered and packaged they will go home with you. Within the next month we will provide each family with a Recital Handbook, it will let you know what you can expect from your recital experience with us and give you a list of important dates such as rehearsals, picture and performance dates. We will also be in need of many parent volunteers to help make sure the show runs as smoothly as possible.
Parents and Caregivers of Toddlers – Be on the lookout for more info to come soon on a Tot & Me dance class coming soon to
