January Studio Newsletter
Happy New Year! We are close to celebrating our 1 year anniversary in our current building; God has been so good to us over the last year and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in the New Year. As we begin the New Year we would like to share with you, the history and vision behind Celebration Street Christian School of the Performing Arts. Celebration Street was founded in 1998 by our Director Laura Ruiz. Our studio was birthed out of a sheer need, the need to provide parents and students with a non-compromising Christian alternative to quality dance instruction dedicated to the glory of the Lord. We are a 501c3 non-profit charitable corporation governed by a Board of Directors; the daily operation of C-Street is run by Laura Ruiz, Director/Founder and Sasha Martinez, Administrator. Our non-profit status has helped us over the years to make sure that all children have the chance to experience the arts no matter their financial background.
Our Mission Statement: Established in 1998, Celebration Street is a place where children & adults of all ages can master the skills of the performing arts for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Vision Statement: Our vision is to be the leading performing arts school, training dancers, actors & musicians in both performance and ministry to impact the world for the Glory of God.
Important Items:
June Tuition - June tuition is due paid in advance with May tuition, June tuition may be made in payments as long as its paid in full on or before May 10th. All accounts must be paid current no later than May 10th with all fees paid for dancers to be eligible to dance in the June Showcase.
Dress Code – Why a dress code? There is a reason for dress codes in any professional school. Proper dance attire enables both teacher and students to view the instrument, in this case the body, properly. This allows for corrections to be made, minimizing the potential for injury and both student and teacher can work without distractions Uniformity in a Ballet classroom develops a sense of unity and allows all focus to be on the work. Parents if you have questions regarding our dress code please ask, it is also in the Student/Parent Handbook. For students who are in Tap, Hip-Hop or Jazz classes, even though we have adopted a more relaxed dress code for these classes you are still expected to wear a leotard in class as well as the appropriate shoes. All students must wear a leotard in class, including Hip Hop. Not only Ballet students but Tap, Hip-Hop and Jazz students as well.
If you come to class with out the proper shoes, leotard, tights or having your hair pulled back, be prepared to sit out of class and watch.
Street shoes or sneakers are not allowed in dance class.
The studio will be closed for the following holidays; Spring Break 3/26 – 3/30, Memorial Day 5/28. We are NOT closed on Martin Luther King Day or President’s Day.
You can receive notices by email – if you would like to but do currently do not please let the office know.
